A recent survey by the Focus agency for the DEKK Institute found that 36% of Slovaks know at least one person who supports the use of violence against ideological opponents. The survey, conducted in September with 1,017 respondents, revealed that 13% know one person who approves of such violence, 15.6% know two to five people, and 7.4% know six or more. In contrast, 57.5% of respondents stated they do not know anyone who endorses violence in ideological conflicts. Another 6.5% were unsure when asked about people who approve of violence. Pavol Kosnáč, director of the DEKK Institute, emphasized the lack of prior comparative data, noting that "polarization in Slovakia has been growing for a long time," with the country ranking as the third most polarized society in Europe, following Poland and Hungary.
