"Slovak women in the National movement" exhibition opened

The traveling exhibition "Slovak Women in the National Movement" was opened on Monday at the Slovak National Museum (SNM) in Bratislava. This is the third in a series of traveling exhibitions, created on the occasion of 2024 being the Year of Slovak Women in the National Movement. The exhibition features fifteen panels showcasing significant Slovak women, including writers, actresses, and national activists, who made their mark in the history of national revival and culture.

The exhibition was inspired by the 200th anniversaries of the births of Adela Ostrolúcka and Anna Hurbanová-Jurkovičová, prominent figures of the Štúr generation. In addition to them, visitors will also learn about other important figures such as Amália Francisciová, Elena Šoltésová, and Božena Slančíková Timrava. The exhibition will be in Bratislava until December 1 and will then travel to other regions of Slovakia and Slovak communities abroad. The opening event also featured the publication Slovak Women in the National Movement, which documents an international scientific conference.
