Civic Association Vagus is hosting its "Night Outdoors" event, where participants will sleep on the streets in several Slovak cities to raise awareness of rising poverty. The initiative highlights the growing issue of homelessness, with nearly one million people in Slovakia living below the poverty line and homelessness increasing by 43% in the past decade. Alexandra Karová, the NGO's executive director, stated that extreme poverty is a widespread crisis requiring urgent attention. She criticized the government’s consolidation measures for worsening the situation by raising living costs without protecting vulnerable groups. The event invites people to participate and help shine a light on the issue in various cities across the country.
