Slovakia and Morocco aim to strengthen political and economic ties, focusing on trade and combating illegal migration, the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry announced. Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár recently discussed these priorities with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and met Azzeddine Farhane, Morocco’s Ambassador to Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Morocco, a key African trade partner with €386 million in bilateral trade last year, offers opportunities in automotive and defense industries. Slovakia plans to expand its presence in Africa by opening embassies in Algeria and Tanzania and a permanent mission in Ethiopia, enhancing partnerships in economically promising regions like Morocco. Joint ventures in Morocco’s growing defense sector, aimed at accessing the broader African market, were highlighted as a key area for cooperation.
