Bratislava-Nové Mesto to have a new multi-purpose sports hall

A new €1.8 million multi-purpose sports hall will be built on Pionierska Street in Bratislava’s Nové Mesto city part, Mayor Matúš Vallo announced Thursday. Construction is expected to finish by late summer 2025, with public use starting in September 2025. The 1,000-square-metre hall will feature a 20x36 metre multifunctional playing area, primarily for gymnastics, alongside a 100-seat auditorium. It will host sports events and occasional public gatherings. Funded mainly by the Programme for the Comprehensive Renewal of Primary Art Schools and Leisure Centres, with support from the Sports Support Fund, the project replaces an old, unsalvageable hall that was demolished. Vallo highlighted ongoing investments in modernizing sports facilities despite financial challenges.
