President Peter Pellegrini is scheduled to leave for a one-day visit to the Netherlands on Monday (December 2), TASR was told by the President Office's communication department on Sunday.
The Slovak head of state will be received by King Willem-Alexander in The Hague and he'll also meet Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. The purpose of the working visit is to confirm the interest in further deepening bilateral relations and the continuation of joint projects. The president's delegation will also include Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Hlas-SD) with a team of experts.
Pellegrini will also visit the Princess Maxima Centre in Utrecht, which is a leading scientific research institution and the largest centre in Europe for research and treatment of childhood cancer. "This facility has a long-standing cooperation with the National Institute of Children's Diseases in Bratislava, with which it has signed a memorandum of understanding. It also receives patients from our country for complicated treatments that cannot be carried out in Slovak conditions," stated the President's Office.
Last year's visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima to Slovakia not only deepened cooperation in the health sector, but also launched several projects in the education sector, ecology and journalism, noted the office.
