President to take part in V4 summit in Poland

President Peter Pellegrini will leave for the Polish town of Wisla on Monday (December 16) morning, where he is due to participate, at the invitation of his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda, in the summit of V4 (Visegrad Four - Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland) presidents held as part of the Polish presidency, the President's Office informed TASR on Sunday.

The V4 presidents will discuss the current issues of the region, the European Union and the global situation at the symbolic place, near the source of the Vistula River and close to the triple border. "They should also talk about the issue of building resilience and the possibilities of coordination in the field of civil protection and crisis management following the recent huge floods that hit all the four countries," added the President's Office.

The presidents will hold a joint press conference on Monday afternoon.
