During the winter monitoring in the Slovak Paradise, it was possible to capture the resident signs of all domestic large carnivores, informed the Administration of the Slovak Paradise National Park. They took advantage of the first continuous snow cover, which presents an ideal opportunity to map the carnivores. The data collected helps to prevent collisions with them, plan conservation measures and ensure that the connectivity of natural areas is maintained.
Monitoring is carried out in the Slovak Paradise within the international ForestConnect project. Its aim is to provide migration corridors that are resilient to landscape change and facilitate the movement of large carnivores in the Carpathian and Balkan regions.
