In the following years, Slovakia can gain €240 million via a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to co-finance part of the EU funds from the new programme period 2021-2027. The government on Wednesday (December 18) approved a proposal to sign the Agreement on Financing between the EIB and Slovakia submitted by the Finance Ministry. This is the first of the framework loans for this area, with more such agreements expected to be signed in the future.
Slovakia can gain €800 million from the EIB in total for co-financing projects under the Slovakia Programme in 2021-2027. The loan can be drawn within three years of the effective date of the agreement, in a maximum of three tranches.
