The National Highway Company (NDS) expects increased traffic on motorways shortly before the Christmas holidays, anticipating the biggest rush on Friday (December 20). Traffic flows are anticipated to go up by more than 30 percent. Increases in traffic are expected in the capital, D1 motorway in the Liptov area, at the entrance to Presov in the direction from Bratislava, on the D2 motorway from the Czech Republic, on the R1 expressway in the direction of Banska Bystrica and on the R2 expressway in the direction of Lucenec.
