It's hundreds of years old, and it shows. The fortification system in the southern Slovak town of Komárno has been left to rot for almost a century, following the First World War. While it's imposing walls were initially erected to repel the Ottoman Empire, today the fall victim to the elements instead. But not for long, as Gavin Shoebridge found out.
