Gene Cernan, the last man to ever set foot on the surface of the moon, was an American who was proud of his Slovak roots. Gene passed away in January of 2017, but his legacy will live on, especially so in the Slovak Republic, where Gene visited three times. What kept him returning here to his grandparent's homeland, and what was it really like landing on the surface of Earth's moon? Gavin Shoebridge went on a journey of discovery to find out.
