From appearing in the Forbes "30 under 30" list of young achievers to co-creating a pocket-sized disease tester which could plug in to your smartphone, Doctor Tomáš Bertók has an already impressive list of achievements. These, along with his efforts to popularise science in Slovakia, were primary reasons for him being announced Young Science Personality of the Year for 2016 at a recent ceremony.
