New university hospital planned in Martin within three years

A new university hospital should be built in Martin (Žilina region) within three years, and it should be located near the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine, with the construction costs to reach around €200-250 million. The Health Ministry, which will be the owner of the hospital, will submit a proposal in this respect to the Government over the following months. "We're very pleased that it will be Martin where we can show that it's possible to deal with patients with acute conditions at a European level. The hospital will be primarily for patients with acute conditions, and every bed will be used there as effectively as possible," said the director general of the hospital Dušan Krkoška, adding that the new medical facility will employ enough professionals.
