Slovakia has a national list of rare disease centres

The Health Ministry, in cooperation with the Slovak Rare Disease Alliance, has compiled a list of facilities which treat rare diseases in Slovakia. Fifty-nine facilities have met the criteria and can later join European Reference Networks for rare diseases which will enable patients to obtain effective medical care as soon as possible. There are an estimated 300,000 people with rare diseases in Slovakia and up to 300 million worldwide.
