From assisting in building dams, to planning for floods, to finding ways to mitigate the growing effects of Climate Change, the Hydrology Institute is one of the busiest science departments you've probably never heard of. And seeing as water is life itself, their work on studying and managing this precious resource has never been more important. Gavin Shoebridge met with Dr Yvetta Velísková, head of the institute, to lift the lid on this institute within the Slovak Academy of Sciences and to find out what research is currently underway.
