The Government on Wednesday approved funds amounting to €575 million to be used for hospital debt relief, TASR learnt on Wednesday. Health Minister Marek Krajčí's (OLaNO) proposal is yet to be approved by Parliament. All hospitals, regardless of their legal form or ownership, should be given an opportunity to participate. The Health Ministry stated that, along with the Finance Ministry, it has created a financial mechanism according to which creditors will be able to satisfy their claims against hospitals. The process should be transparent, efficient and based on the principle of equal participation for all. At the end of last year the liabilities of medical facilities under the Health Ministry amounted to €541.80 million.
