Forests represent 41% of Slovakia's territory and their number is growing year by year. This is according to the State of Europe's Forests 2020 report. "We have many national parks, more than in neighbouring countries. However, we also need to look at the state they are in. We are not protecting them properly." says ecologist Erik Baláž. Together with conservationist Jerguš Tesák describe what the reform of national parks in Slovakia looks like and present nature tourism. Marianna Palková talked to them during the Festival Mountains and city (Hory a mesto), where they both gave a lecture on the state of the forests.
