Biodiversity represents all the different kinds of life you can find in one area - the variety of animals, plants, fungi and even micro-organisms such as bacteria that make up our natural world. On the 22nd of May we observed the International Day of Biodiversity. Marianna Palková visited the Bratislava Zoo, where the celebrations were in full swing. The organisers of the event - the management of the Bratislava Zoo and Adriana Brossmannová from the Bratislava Regional Conservation Association described the atmosphere during the day. They also revealed why it is important to maintain the variety of life on Earth.

Visitors also enjoyed the opening of the new exhibition. The idea is to bring visitors closer to the impact of climate change on biodiversity. Ten artists from Slovakia created illustrations of individual endangered animals.
