Slovakia is currently experiencing a period of extreme drought. More than 55 percent of the territory of Slovakia is suffering from soil drought. Heatwave causing several problems with potable water supplies. For example, in the vicinity of the town of Modra and the village of Buková. There is also a difficult situation in the Záhorie region. Maroš Turňa, a climatologist at the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute, says that complications will arise in several areas: “Crop yields of corn, maize and other crops will be low due to the extreme conditions.
