SOSA stratospheric balloon

Each year, from mid July to mid August, our planet crosses the path of the Swift-Tuttle comet which creates the Perseid meteor shower. While most of us lie on our back yards at night to watch the heavenly spectacle, the Slovak Organisation for Space Activities (SOSA) went a step further: launching a stratospheric balloon to the edge of space to capture the moment. Gavin Shoebridge heads investigates the technology onboard this laboratory in the sky, and what it hopes to achieve.
