Last year a total of 119.3 million packages of drugs were sold in Slovakia with about a third of them being sold over the counter. Although the figure has decreased year on year for both drugs from medical prescriptions and over the counter by 0.5% and 5.9%, respectively Slovakia remains one of the countries with the highest drug consumption in Europe.
