Every year, our planet crosses the path of the Swift-Tuttle comet. The result we see in the night sky is called the Perseid meteor shower. This time the Slovak Organisation for Space Activity (SOSA) was one step ahead of this natural wonder, releasing a stratospheric balloon loaded with instruments and a camera to capture the meteor shower from the very edge of space. What was the result and what technology was onboard? Gavin Shoebridge investigates.
