Bratislava welcomed a new Biomedicine Centre into operation last week, under the auspices of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The new centre comes at a cost of €39.5 million, with €33.6 million of this coming from EU Funds. The idea behind the centre is to streamline active areas of the Academy of Sciences to take on bigger and better research targets, and of course, bigger and better international research grants. Gavin Shoebridge reports from the centre's official opening ceremony.
