In the months of July and August you have the rare opportunityto visit Smolenice castle. This medieval castle, built in the 14th century, is nowadays owned by SAV (The Slovak Academy of Sciences) and used as a Congress Centre for national and international conferences. During the summer, the castle is open to public every day from 10a.m. to 6p.m. The castle guide will take you to several saloons, the castle courtyard, gardens and a 33-metre-high castle tower.
