A picnic for lovers of living history returns to the Janko Kral Orchard! On Saturday 1 July, Bratislava will return to the first half of the last century. Concerts and dances with music from that period await visitors. In a pleasant picnic atmosphere, guests can enjoy period attractions, handicraft demonstrations and a fashion show. There will also be a dance workshop and stalls with retro delicacies and handmade products.
And get on your bike the day before, on Friday 30 June. Cyclists will take to the streets of Bratislava to fight for better conditions for people on bikes. After the ride, there will be an after-party on the beach. There will also be concerts, and the organisers say to bring a couple of brats.
The Regional Cultural Centre in Prievidza and the Trenčín Self-Governing Region invite you to the exhibition REMESLO Žije or Crafts Live! The collection of Igor Prilinsky's works will be on display at the Region Art Gallery at the RKC in Prievidza. In 2018, this artist was awarded the Master of Folk Art Production award for wood production. The opening of the exhibition took place on June 29.
The Východná Folklore Festival is the oldest and largest national festival with international participation in our region. Every year, on the first weekend in July, the village of Východná, near the High Tatras, revives rich folklore traditions. The theme of the 68th edition of the festival is generations. There will also be a tribute to the renowned folklorist, dancer, and choreographer Štefan Kocák on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Východná is a celebration of folklore, and its existence contributes significantly to the revival, preservation, creative development, and public presentation of the precious values of our cultural treasure. Folklore is deeply rooted in the traditions and culture of the Slovak nation, which is why it can arouse the joy of mutual encounter and revive not only history but also feelings.
