Jozef Gregor Tajovský was one of the central figures of the second wave of Slovak literary realism and was the founder of Slovak realist drama. His dramatic works have formed an organic part of the repertoire of Slovak professional and amateur theatres since their beginnings. The 18 October marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Jozef Gregor Tajovský, prose writer, playwright, poet, teacher and politician.
