Slovakia and Britain connected through Shakespeare

2018 is an important year for Slovakia in many regards. It is a year which will see the public observance of different historical anniversaries, from 100 years since the foundation of Czechoslovakia, 50 years since the Warsaw troop invasion, to 25 years since an independent Slovakia emerged on the map of Europe. With this also comes 25 years of new bilateral relationships between the young country and its important foreign counterparts.

Such as Great Britain.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Slovak-British diplomatic relations, Zuzana Botiková spoke to the British ambassador Mr. Andrew Garth about the past years as well as the future...

One of the three Slovak personalities awarded by the ambassador for their contribution to the good ties between the countries was Ľubomír Feldek, a Slovak poet and playwright, also a person who has translated the works of William Shakespeare into Slovak.
