On February 23, 1945, Joe Rosenthal of the Associated Press took an iconic photograph of a flag raising. One of the six marines, who raised the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima island was Slovak-born Sgt. Michael Strank. Documentary filmmaker Dušan Hudec spoke to a few marines, who still remember fighting along their beloved officer.
