Preventive measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic are having a huge impact on everyone. However, homeless people are one of the most vulnerable groups affected by them. Not only do they have limited access to the latest information about the spread of the virus but, more importantly, their access to basic needs like water or food supplies is even more complicated now. And what if a homeless person is COVID-19 positive?
Quarantine townlet in Bratislava
On the 16th of April, the Bratislava city authority opened a 'quarantine townlet' for the homeless at the Zlate piesky recreation area as a measure to prevent a more massive outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Bratislava Mayor Matúš Vallo and spokesperson for Bratislava city council Peter Bubla comment on the situation.
