It's important that equality among all types of couples living together be reached at least on the level of property rights, Justice Minister Maria Koliková (For the People) has stated in reaction to the Rainbow Pride Bratislava event, which culminated on Saturday with an on-line concert. "I perceive it to be important that we deliver our promise to which we committed in the Government Manifesto," stated Koliková, referring to a Manifesto chapter mentioning that the Government will improve legislation concerning the property rights of people living in a shared household. As Slovakia does not recognize civil unions or registered partnerships, whether it be for hetereosexual or same sex couples, it is not possible for these partners, for example, to inherit property the same way that married couples do.
