The long anticipated verdict in the case of murder of the journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová was announced in early September 2020. The trial with those allegedly responsible for ordering the hit on this young couple has been labelled in Slovakia as the most important trial in modern Slovak history. The case heavily appears in the media, and on the show today, we will look at this media angle of the court trial. As the senate of the specialised criminal court proclaimed Marián Kočner not guilty of ordering the hit on the journalist, a sudden introspection appeared within society, whether the media were perhaps not too quick to judge.
