Hidden secrets of Cold War uncovered

The Cold War era is still veiled by many secrets that wait for the public to notice. Thanks to recently declassified documents, the latest academic research reveals that not every alliance was sacred, that military assistance was an "export commodity", and that superpowers and small states were equally eager to use secret intelligence to achieve their goals. In summer 2020, a new podcast series set off to uncover the hidden stories of the Cold War era building on the latest findings of the international academic community. The series is created and produced by our former colleague and a long-time popular voice of Radio Slovakia International, Katarína Urban Richterová. In the following interview, we talk to her about secrets from the Cold War era that involve former Czechoslovakia and its unlikely foreign ally.
