Nitra to be adorned with Sakura trees

A number of public spaces in Nitra will be adorned by dozens of Japanese cherry trees, a gift to the town by the Japanese Embassy in celebration of the centenary of diplomatic ties between Slovakia and Japan. The Japanese Sakura trees have been planted on four streets of Nitra, with city officials also planning to unveil commemoration plaques once the restrictive measures against the coronavirus are lifted.
