Several studies point to the fact that the relationship of Slovaks to foreigners is quite problematic, be it on a symbolic level of stereotypes and prejudices, or on the everyday practical level of bureacratic communication. For example, towns and villages do not always communicate well with their inhabitants, who are of a different national background. Experiences at the Border and Foreigners' Police are also not always present. Faces of Migration is an education campaign, supported by the European Commission through the Development Education and Awareness Raising programme that should educate about this topic. In Slovakia, the campaign is carried out by an organisation called Ambrela.
