Celebrating International Bird Day in Slovakia

In addition to being known as April Fool's day, 1 April is observed as International Bird Day, too. Nevertheless, maybe not everyone knows that this tradition dates back to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and it was launched by the naturalist Oto Herman, who was born and lived in Brezno, now in central Slovakia. In order to find out more about the International Bird Day, Romana Grajcarová discussed it with Ján Gúgh of the Slovak Ornithological Society/BirdLife Slovakia.
