Providing informal soirees with conversation about fishing in the late 1940s or teaching Slovak politicians English in the 1990s. Movie screenings, a library as well as medical consultations. Those were activities connected to the British Council, an organization in the United Kingdom which has been specializing in international educational and cultural opportunities since the 1930s. In June 2021, the British Council is celebrating 75 years since it first opened its offices in post-war Czechoslovakia.
