Along the 770km of the SNP trail

Along the 770km of the SNP trail
There are several public spaces across Slovakia bearing the name of the Slovak National Uprising. This name refers to the historic event connected to the armed revolt that broke out in Slovakia in late August 1944 and lasted until October 1944. One of the locations that bears the name of this historic event is the iconic hiking trail named after the Heroes of the Slovak National Uprising. It stretches from the easternmost to the westernmost parts of Slovakia. The 770 km long trail attracts many avid hikers, from Slovakia as well as from abroad. We spoke to Malte Seibold, a student from Germany, who in early summer of 2021 walked the famous trail.

Actually, prior to the hike, Zuzana Botiková reached out to Malte and asked him to document some of his reflections along the way. You can hear some of these observations in the special Listeners' Tribune dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising.
