The best medical facilities in Slovakia in terms of patient evaluation include the Central Military Hospital in Ruzomberok, northern Slovakia, the National Oncology Institute in Bratislava, the Central Slovak Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and the East Slovak Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Kosice. This is the result of a survey published by state-run health-insurer Vseobecna zdravotna poistovna published on Thursday.
Specialized institutes for cardiovascular diseases and oncology institutes were rated the best, while state-run university and faculty hospitals had the worst rating.
From a regional point of view, hospitals in the Zilina and Kosice regions were evaluated as best, while policyholders from the Nitra and Trnava regions were least satisfied. Female patients were more critical in their evaluation than men. They evaluated the attitude of doctors and staff positively, and food and accommodation negatively.
VsZP publishes hospitals' ranking every year. "This time it was joined by 6,354 VsZP policyholders who were hospitalized for at least one day in one of the institutional health care facilities in Slovakia in 2021, with the exception of children's institutes, psychiatric and prison hospitals," said Peterova. She added that a hospital was included in the ranking if VsZP received an evaluation from at least 10 policyholders.
