We were meeting in Szilvester Gyori’s garden so as to collect his roses for the international rose show that was held in Ivanka pri Dunaji on June 11-12, 2022. This rose show was presenting collection of roses from Austria, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia. The pinnacle of the event was, however, the display of unique types bred in the former Czechoslovakia in the 1930’s, after WWII, and also in the independent Slovak Republic after its establishment in 1993. Szilvester Gyori’s roses were presented on an extra display table as he has bred more than 200 roses, some of them even micro-miniature cultivars. There’s no other like him in Slovakia.
