New direct flights from Slovakia to the USA might be launched in the course of next year, the head of the Transport Authority Pavol Hudak said on Thursday for the private TA3 TV channel. As the TV informed, Slovak and American partners have already started talks on this matter. An audit conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration should follow. As Hudak informed, the decision depends on this particular audit. "I expect we should be able to make it in one year's time," he stated. The direct flights should concern civil as well as cargo aviation. Milan Rastislav Stefanik airport in Bratislava welcomed such a chance in its official statement, adding that direct flights from Slovakia to USA have been a long term interest of not only Slovak business entities but also of many airlines.
