Elena Letňanová is a successful Slovak pianist, publicist and university teacher. Her promising career as a concert pianist was interrupted by a ban on public performances when in 1969 as a leader of a historical march in honour of Jan Palach. Following years of oppression, in 1984 she fled Czechoslovakia, where she made the name of her country known also outside of the musical circles. Zuzana Botiková sat down with Mrs. Letňanová to speak about her take on "freedom".
