Rastislav Očenáš, a teacher of Slovak language, mathematics and informatics at a primary school in Sliač, became the laureate of the Teacher of Slovakia 2022 award. Ten finalists competed for the title. This year's award was given to teachers who not only teach children facts, but also educate them to be open-minded personalities. "High-quality and inspiring teachers are a treasure in any society, but it is important that we as a society are able to recognise them sufficiently. This is the essence of the Teacher of Slovakia award," emphasised Zuzana Labasova from the Comenius Institute of the Zivica Centre for Environmental and Ethical Education, which organises the award.
