8 March marks International Women’s Day in the wake of women workers’ fight for their rights at the beginning of the 20th century. In 2024, the United Nations is celebrating this day with the topic: Invest in Women, accelerate progress. Accelerating progress in the war stricken parts of eastern Ukraine is the Slovak foundation Integra. It has been providing know-how about micro enterprises to support women who fled eastern Ukraine with children and have been left dependent on humanitarian aid.
