Single parents face quite a difficult situation in Slovakia. This type of families makes 8% of all the households in the country and single mothers lead a majority of them. The government offers various ways of economic assistance but nevertheless, these families still struggle in a lot of ways. In this show you are going to hear a sociologist from SAV, Zuzana Kusá, talking about this topic alongside with experiences of single mother Ivana, who is raising her 6 year old daughter on her own. The Ministry of Labour also provided us a statement for this show.
