Marek Hudec: The situation of queer people in Slovakia did not get any better

On the 12th of October, 2022, Slovakia saw a terrorist attack at a gay bar in the city centre leaving Juraj Vankulič and Matúš Horváth, both in their twenties, dead. A third person, Radka Trokšiarová, was injured but survived the attack.

Two years after the terrorist attack, the queer community is still a target. To talk about the terrorist attack on Zámocká street, Martin Bednárik talked to Marek Hudec, author of the new reportage book named Spúšť, or The Trigger about the attack itself and the homophobic and transphobic sentiments in the society.
