Since the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, there have been more than 760 athletes born in Slovakia who have taken part in these sporting spectacles. In 2014, the Slovak Olympic Committee established a symbolic place of piety for them at the National Cemetery in Martin. The Monument is devoted to all Olympians from Slovakia, but the signs bear the names of only the deceased Olympic medalists. You can visit the monument virtually and learn more about some of Slovakia's great athletes from the past. The website is also available in English at the address: www.pamatnikolympionikov.sk/en
