The 31st Summer Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro have left a very positive feeling among the Slovak public - this was especially due to the successful performances of Slovak athletes. Slovakia is known as a superpower in canoe-slalom, or canoe-sprint, and everybody sort of expects medals in these sports, but in Rio 2016, the country also reached for its historic first gold in track and field athletics. This was thanks to the 33-year-old racewalker Matej Tóth, who walked 50km in 3:40:58, fighting not only his competitors, but also the warm weather, his aching body and his mental exhaustion. After returning home to Slovakia, Zuzana Botikova asked him a few questions about his exceptional Rio experience.
