Slovakia is not really a skiing superpower. Especially if you compare the country to its neighbour; Austria, which actually is one. In spite of this fact we can say that the previous season was an improvement, especially for Slovak female skiers. Petra Vlhová, who turned 21 only this summer had her break-through year - finishing sixth overall in slalom. In the opening race of the new season she proved that it was probably just the beginning.
