Slovakia lags behind other countries in the number and quality of sporting arenas for one of its most popular sports - ice hockey. According to statistics from the International Ice Hockey Federation, there are 61 indoor rinks in Slovakia suitable for ice-hockey. Just for comparison, there are around 200 indoor rinks in Germany, 358 in Sweden and 263 in Finland. And if we set Slovakia next to the ice hockey superpower of Canada, this difference is even more striking: 3,250 indoor rinks help to bring up some of the best players in the game's history. The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation, however, has a new solution up the sleeve.
